Children's physiotherapy
Paediatric physiotherapy is a specialized form of physiotherapy that is geared towards the needs of children and adolescents. It helps to promote motor skills, treat developmental delays, alleviate pain and improve physical function.
Various treatment techniques are used in paediatric physiotherapy, including targeted exercises, massages, mobilization, breathing therapy and also playful elements to motivate the child. It is particularly important to design the therapy in an age-appropriate and sensitive way so that the child feels comfortable and actively participates. The aim is to optimize movement skills, alleviate pain and improve the child's quality of life.
This therapy is often used for children with various health problems or developmental disorders, such as
-
Motor development disordersProblems with gross or fine motor skills, such as difficulties with running, jumping or hand-eye coordination.
-
Illnesses and injuriesChildren who need to become mobile again after accidents or operations or who suffer from certain illnesses such as scoliosis, cerebral palsy or cystic fibrosis.
-
Neurological diseasesChildren with neurological disorders such as strokes or other impairments of the nervous system.
-
Poor posture and scoliosisPhysiotherapy is used to strengthen the muscles and improve posture in the case of orthopaedic problems such as spinal misalignments or postural problems.
-
Breathing problems: In the case of respiratory diseases such as asthma or chronic respiratory diseases, physiotherapy can help to improve breathing and increase lung function.
