The passive part of the therapy!

Manual therapy is the term for the passive part of physiotherapy, in which the physiotherapist uses manipulation techniques to release blockages in the musculoskeletal system through targeted pulling, pressing and pushing.

The physiotherapist specializes in the examination and treatment of patients with complaints of the spine and joints in the arms and legs.

In general, manual therapy is suitable for complaints that are accompanied by pain and limited mobility of one or more joints.

Due to his specific knowledge and skills, the manual therapist mainly works on complaints of the spine and related complaints.

Frequent complaints

that the manual therapist treats are:

  • Head and neck pain, together with poor mobility of the spine

  • Neck and shoulder pain with pain radiating into the arms

  • Discomfort high in the back with rib and chest pain

  • Osteoarthritis of the hip

  • Low back pain, possibly with pain radiating into the legs

  • certain types of dizziness caused by neck movements

  • Jaw pain, possibly combined with neck pain

Joints can also have too much mobility. This can lead to instability and discomfort. In this case, the manual therapist can give you specific training tips to make your joints more stable using muscles.

For the best possible therapeutic result, manual therapy is always combined with medical training therapy.
